10 Secrets to Self Motivation Tips

Self motivation is important for success in life; and to get the right motivation in life, just follow these 10 tips for self motivation.

1. Being able to deal with decent people in a business and turning away unreasonable or rude people is self fulfilling and motivating.

2. Following the same context of the first tip, you have to deal with people you think are sane and safe to invite home to dinner with your family. Don’t take the literal meaning of this; you have to learn to be able to keep away from dealing with people you wouldn’t want to take home to dinner with. It is only when you can trust a person can you considered doing business with them.

3. Another self motivation tip is to set long term and annual goals. By carrying forward everything from past years, you find that you have a clearer vision for the next year, and have greater stability to go through the year. And as many people tend to procrastinate their duties, by framing annual goals, there is always something to lean back on and some purpose and direction for channeling energy.

While framing annual goals, think with a positive frame of mind where you think of what you are going to do, and not on what you are not interested in doing. And on reaching this goal, you get a feeling of achievement, which itself is self motivating.

You also develop a sense of control on the outcome of the goal where you don’t depend on outside influences in reaching your goals. Think of the effect your long term goal that will have on other people, and on other things you like about reaching the goal.

4. Looking into the future is very self motivating where you just imagine yourself heading to your goal. And on reaching the goal, you just have to savior, relish and feel the moment. You then know what you will go through when you really reach your goal.

Do this only for your important goals, and not for all goals. At times, not all goals will be reached because of alteration and adaptation of goals. Don’t worry, just put up your head and try again, for try, try and succeed.

5. Breaking up your goal into small milestones makes reaching your goal faster, better and much more self motivating.

6. Breaking your annual goals into quarterly goals is very self motivating. This is because once you reach a quarter; you just have to transfer the remaining steps to reaching your goal to the next quarter. This way, if you fail to reach a goal or a part of it, you just have to transfer it to the next quarter for another attempt at reaching it.

7. Maintaining a self development goal diary proves to be very enlightening to a person. This is because a few years down the road, when you are down in the dumps, all you have to do is to leaf through these diaries where you have written all your goals and how you had achieved them. You will be able to go through all the learning you had gone through to reach your goal.

So while pursuing your goal now, note down al the dates of your achievements and what you had learnt on the date of wiring. Then revisit these entries in the diary for some self motivation for your present task, and to learn what these achievements have done to your life.

8. Visual and auditory anchoring of your good moments and high achievement times gives special memories of success, which is very self motivating. Every time you listen to or look at your auditory or visual anchor, you will be able to envision the same feelings you had gone through at the time of anchoring.

9. Use colors for time management of your chores. You could mark profitable activities red in your diary, use blue for activities that should be profitable and black for all other activities. With these colors, you tend to keep an eye on your work, especially on what is most important.

At the same time, you will be able to think of ways of doing work faster with the help of the internet and the right software. And what cannot be automated right now, can be automated after some time.

10. Learning to strike a balance between work and home is very self motivating. This is because people today are more prone to working late hours, and not coming home in time to spend time with their loved ones. However little do they know that the emotional support that friends and family provide is very self motivating.

The best way to do this is to devote some special, quality time for your family; perhaps on the weekends. Keep your Sunday free, and spend time playing football with your son, or perhaps going fishing. Not only do your kids feel much better in your company, you also feel much more relaxed with these new deviations in life.

Another alternative is to work from home, with the help of the internet. There are today thousands of work at home opportunities you can use, like affiliate marketing, online businesses, article writing, data entry, etc.

By working at home, you will find much more time for your family, and are rid of the stress of having to run off to the office, amidst heavy traffic jams. However this is advisable only if you find something suitable for yourself. Don’t quit your job immediately after finding a work at home opportunity; wait for some time to ensure that it reaps you the benefits you are looking for, and then consider quitting your 9-5 job.

When you consider how much better you can do at work and in life with the help of the internet, and all the above mentioned tips, your self motivation limits are sure to improve to a much better level.
